Were the reviews for www.romeshuttlelimousine.com or another service? Rome Shuttle Limousine usually gets good reviews on this board.

Rome Shuttle and Rome Shuttle Limousine are two different companies. Just trying to clarify which company actually got a bad review. There have been dozens of positive reviews for Rome Shuttle Limousine.

The problem exists with Limo Service Rome and a rip-off company that copied their name except they added an S at end of Service(s). There are many bad reports for Limo ServiceS Rome, but no bad reports for Limo Service Rome. Sometimes people book the wrong company by not paying attention to the spelling.

Andrae is who I communicated with at Limo Service Rome.

It's about 50 euros to come into the heart of Rome from FCO.
Rome taxis are reasonably priced. My average ride last May was about 7 to 10 euros, if I remember right. The tip is up to you but 10 percent is a good guide.

I think the 7-12 Euro generalization is pretty accurate, give or take a Euro or two, depending up traffic, too. I only ever trip an additional Euro for 'general travel' in Rome.

I've used a limo shuttle service for airport transfers, so I honestly have no experience with taxis from the airport to the historical center of the city.

Taxi from the airport is a set fee of 40€ (they are in the process of getting approval to raise it to 45€).

We were just in Rome and we used Rome Cabs. There rate is 40 Euros. Excellent email communications. Our flight into Rome was two hours late but no problem. Driver was right there waiting for us and took us to the Marriott on the Via Veneto. Had a 7am pick up for return flight home and driver was right on time. Drivers were polite and friendly. Mercedes car from airport and Mercedes van to airport. Highly recommend. Also, make sure you have a bunch of 1 Euro coins to make tipping easier when using http://www.romeshuttlelimousine.com
